Our Story
Lavender Fields was founded in 2001 by Lori, whose background in interior design and lifelong love of art, textiles, and furnishings shaped the store into what it is today. Located in the heart of Port Jefferson, the shop serves as both a creative studio and a reflection of her design philosophy—layered, inviting, and always evolving.
Today, Lavender Fields has grown into a true family business. Lori’s daughter, Ava, now plays an integral role in running the shop, bringing a fresh perspective while honoring the foundation it was built on.
Ava is also deeply connected to the local community as a historical tour guide and docent at the Mather Museum, where she shares her passion for the rich history of the village. Her love of storytelling and place adds another meaningful layer to Lavender Fields—rooting the shop not only in beautiful design, but in a true sense of home and heritage.

Raised with an appreciation for fine craftsmanship and thoughtful design, Lori built Lavender Fields on the belief that beauty and function should go hand in hand. As both a designer and a mother, she understands that homes are meant to be lived in—filled with pieces that are as practical as they are inspiring.
Together, Lori and Ava continue to shape Lavender Fields into a space that reflects both past and present: a store grounded in tradition, enriched by history, and always evolving with a fresh point of view.
